What is Dew Point (DP)?
Dew Point Application:
• In summer or high humidity season,
identifies and warns when conditions
for mold growth exist
• In winter or low humidity season,
identifies and warns when conditions
for static electricity exist
• Air temperature and dew point temp.
indicate where condensation may occur
• Monitor conditions in laboratories,
basement and other controlled
environment settings
The dew point temperature is
the temperature at which the air
can no longer hold all of its water
vapor and some of the water vapor
must condense into liquid water.
Condensation of water vapour
begins when the temperature of air
is lowered to its dew point and beyond.
The dew point is associated with
relative humidity. A high relative
humidity indicates that the dew
point is closer to the current air
temperature.
Relative humidity of 100% indicates
the dew point is equal to the current
temp. and the air is maximally
saturated with water. When the dew
point remains constant and
temperature increases, relative
humidity will decrease
